Origin
Born Damien Mercer in New Orleans, Damien was raised above a fading antique shop in the French Quarter, surrounded by strange relics, dusty records, and his grandmother's stories of 'old blood' tied to forgotten European nobility.
He fell for the guitar through a battered vinyl of Black Sabbath, then Type O Negative, HIM, and The Cult — practicing in cemeteries and abandoned churches for the eerie acoustics until locals called him 'The Cemetery Guitarist.'
After a warehouse fire ended his first band, Velvet Mercy, he vanished from the scene, sold nearly everything, and drifted through the underground clubs of Prague, Berlin, and Romania. He took the name Cross after a near-fatal motorcycle crash left only his grandmother's silver cross necklace undamaged: 'Some people carry scars. I carried a warning.'
He met Raven in a candlelit Prague club when the power failed and she kept singing; he grabbed an acoustic and played beside her in near-darkness. 'Either we start a band, or we haunt people forever wondering what almost happened.' She said yes.
